Abstract

|
This study was conducted to find ways to revitalize community-based employment rehabilitation facilities. The subject and scope of the research focused on vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled in Gyeongbuk Province. Quantitative survey and focus group interviews were conducted on vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled in North Gyeongbuk Province as research methods to achieve the objectives of the study. Quantitative survey analyzed the current state of operation, performance, problems and improvement tasks of vocational rehabilitation facilities in Gyeongbuk, and focused group interviews analyzed the roles and tasks at the local government level for revitalizing vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled in the region, focusing on field experts, in order to overcome the limitations of quantitative survey. The results of the survey showed that the expansion of vocational adaptation training facilities and workplaces within the Gyeongbuk area is necessary, systematic case management services suitable for the people with developmental disabilities are necessary, and that there is an increase in the number of active workers compared to legal workers in the rehabilitation facilities, development of production items, and support of equipment and facilities. As a result of the focus group interview, it is necessary to develop a Gyeongbuk vocational rehabilitation model, establish an integrated support system that has taken user-centered linkage, coordination and facility support, support for enhancing worker capacity to improve performance, and efforts for autonomous improvement to improve the performance of rehabilitation facilities themselves were presented.
